Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that there would necessarily be any benefit, just that things are different. I haven't yet tried the new version yet, so I can't say one way or the other, but there seem to be some bug fixes for the waylandsink plugin and I thought that there was support for fullscreen playback, but I can't seem to find it in the latest version (I haven't looked very hard, though). I'm currently using some local patches based on 1.2.4, but I'm now trying to figure out how useful it will be to move this stuff to 1.3 or 1.4.
