Mark: Well, whether to put it into 5.x at all is one of the not-intentionally-hidden agenda items for me. How far out is "not that far"? A few weeks? 6 months? If it's too far out then the motivation for 5x is to get it in people's hands in a timely manner. OTOH, if 6.0 is coming out in roughly the same time-frame as a possible 5.5 (and probably thus there wouldn't _be_ a 5.5) it changes the equation.
Shalin: Right, SOLR-8263 is being worked on. I'm mostly trying to get a sense of whether or what the time frame for 5.4 (or 5.5 or 6.0) allows.
