Looking ahead a bit, it looks like the "extracting code snippets" use-case is a 
common one for Asciidoc.  They include a section in their documentation that's 
very similar to what we're trying to do here.  Looks like it shouldn't be too 
difficult to use the "tagged-regions" feature of the include-directive, as 
mentioned here: http://asciidoctor.org/docs/user-manual/#include-partial
