Resolution: Won't Fix
Likewise on this issue, I don't think it's in any sense permanently closed. But
to date it's not yet looking like there is support for a commit of something
like this, so wanted to reflect that in JIRA. That's not to say different
approach which addresses some of the comments in this thread wouldn't be commit
support.
