pat- let me know if it works. There's Discussion on the list about shipping
without/prepped for 1.3.
The problem with 1.3 is that spark made most of the REPL stuff that we override
package-private so I haven't been able to find an easy fix. It may call for a
new plan of attack for the shell, which would probably be better targeted for
0.10.1.
