Here https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch-mapper-attachments (one of the
most widely used plugin for ES) or here
https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch-transport-wares you can see that there
are different versions of this plugin for each version of ES, so I think that
there is no other option than providing different plugins for different
versions of ES.
