I've never heard of Twain. However... you may want to point out that since OOo is open source, they could add Twain capability themselves and contribute it back to the project. That way, they end up with a better product, and so do we. OOo can be extended using C++, Java or Python. More languages will come laer.

Cheers,
Daniel.

Twain is used in scanners and cameras to bring the information in the product to the PC. Most office products have it and it looks like OOo has it at well, but I have no mac to verify it on. but I know I can grab stuff from ScanSoft which is the product they are using and bring it into the Windows version. I will have to check the Linux one, but I have no Mac to test on.

Chad, do you know it this is possible?

Hi there

I would like to offer OpenOffice in part with our product the portable scanner the DocuPen for our mac clients. Check out our product at www.docupen.com

We need a software that is functionable on Mac OS X and is TWAIN compliant...two very important factors.

Can you let me know if OpenOffice works with OS X and TWAIN compliancy???...

PS: We will be attending CeBit March 10-16 2005. Drop by or schedule a time if you are attending. Hall1, Stand 3d16, Booth A01 - USA Pavillion
