I am setting up a workshop to show kids how great Open Software is. It
includes showing them Eclipse. I just installed gcc and it's buddies and
ended up removing the Java part. Things stopped working after the FSF's
Java was installed. I did not try to get things working, that would
defeat the goal of showing how the kids can use OSS.

I have had similar experiences in the past.
