I am firmly against putting any additional load on developers. Their time can be spent with much higher return simply by fixing usability issues - this will produce better product and better product is more suitable for low-cost marketing (viral, grass-roots).

If marketing ever to set tasks for developers it should be improving product usability.

Having a web integration is improving the product, being able to have a backend such as Google Docs & Spreadsheet. Will give value added to OpenOffice.org and the opendocument file format simply because it proves the interoperability with other offices suites (web suites).

I am not an expert in Python but having this code will come with a less than 100 lines of code and half ot the interoperability should be provided by google and not OOo since we are just pushing/retrieving the document which we kind of do when we send documents as email attachments or Fax under the File > Send > as email.

I am not sure of what this tool actually do which extracts the content and transform it either as HTML email or TXT email.

Yet this is beyond the original proposal. At this points developers already have provide most of the tools, and we are the only one who are not monetizing on this tools.
