You have done a great job. This needs to be put to use.

We should, in great ernest, pursue the news media. Published figures (with a 
link to a website with ROI  calucaltor) carry sufficient weight to do the 
trick. People (still) generally tend to believe newspapers and magazines. 

Who so ever is managing India, I'd suggest talking to India Today group, Indian 
Express group, Times of India group etc. for their financial supplements / 
publications.

The OO.o mktg group should create a crisp article where world wide and country 
specific figures can be included. Also, the OO.o website should be more mktg 
oriented than development oriented.

Please comment and if acceptible, the OO.o mktg team should

(a) Form a small group (4-5 people) to create the material.
(b) Let country specific OO.o people :
        (i) Locate magazines/newspapers (and the correspondents/journolists).
        (ii) Find country specific success stories.
        (iii) May be also find some celebrity who can lend his/her face to 
this. In India, business leaders, movie stars and cricketers do carry weightage.
(c) Set specific tasks and timelines.
(d) Ensure that proper communication channels are available betwwen the core 
group, OO.o team and the local OO.o people.
(e) Possibly a website, running (may be) dotProjekt 9or any other project 
management / groupware tool can be used to manage and co-ordinate efforts.
(f) And of course, ask the businesses to contribute to OO.o by (any of the) :
        (i) Direct donation (cash). In India, OO.o will have to register with 
govt for tax exemption (80 cc or something similar) for donors and donations.
        (ii) Sponsor events in college fests etc. on behalf of OO.o.
        (iii) Sponsor developers for OO.o. : Great ROI
        (iv) Sponsor ad space in magazines, news papers and electronic media. : 
Great ROI
