agreed. Skype is not a perfect solution.

There are dial-in capabilities for SIP, but that like with other
protocols is dependent on the host/exchange for the conference.
Maybe when school starts the is a group that wants to take on setting up
Asterisk for us.

The problem is not the Asterisk server. Can do so in 10 minutes or so. The problem are local dial-in numbers in various countries.
