I did not followed well this thread, and I do not really understand
neither the original goal or the objections. But latest emails were only
references to previous discussions. For readers who would like to not
spend too much time in this debate, it is difficult to get a technical
understanding. If participants still have energy, what about moving to
some page (e.g. a wiki) giving a short summary, a list of the objections
that were raised, and answers to the objections? The idea is that if the
page is edited as the discussion goes (e.g., but moving to some archive
section the objections or answers recognized as technically invalid), it
would be easier to understand than a stack of emails.
