Greetings Jaswinder,

I build it from source. Please refer to the simple steps below:

Download the tarball source from http://xchat.orgInstall all xchat dependencies 
e.g gettext, expat, freetype, cairo etc.. (you may need to search the deps on 
the net)
untar the source and cd into the directoryapply this patch -> sed -i 
's/GtkType/GType/' src/fe-gtk/xtext.{c,h}./configuremakesudo make install

Sorry, i cant recall exactly all the dependencies name above but roughly that 
is it.
