Max Berger commented on MOJO-642:
---------------------------------

Ah. Then this goes together with another wish that I skipped to report (make
appassembler being able to pack files) because I just happened to see that
there is another outstanding bug, and on that that question was answered.

Then i guess my wish is instead a wish for better documentation: Please add on
the "how to use" that this plugin only creates the scripts, and that one could
use other plugins (such ass the assembler plugin) to create a full distribution.

Thanks

* Packaging your app

Appassembler is only about creating the scripts for your application. To create
a distribution, please use other plugins such as the
{{{http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-assembly-plugin/}assembly plugin}}

> make unix scripts executabe (on unix)

>            Reporter: Max Berger
>            Priority: Trivial
>
> When appassembler creates the shellscripts, they do not have the exectuable
> bit set. It would be nice to have this (at least on unix). This is especially
> important when creating a tar file for redistribution.
> This could be an optional feature: Try to exec chmod, and if it fails, just
> ignore it.
> Thanks
