The axistools it seems. The base directory of the
wsdl2java-maven-plugin contains a file named DEPRECATED explicitly
pointing at the axistools. And indeed, there wasn't any real activity
on the code base since 2005. So, I believe you better continue to hack
on the axistools thing ;-)

If nobody objects, we should also consider to delete
wsdl2java-maven-plugin from trunk. It's a snapshot plugin and hasn't
had any releases. If deletion seems to hard, it should at least be
moved back into the sandbox.
it should probably move into retired in favour of axistools - and also
be removed from the plugins.html list to save a lot of googling
&&surfing hours?
Regarding axistools - the deps should probably be upgraded:
plexus utils is at 1.0.1 - 1.5.6 is latest - but I think it requires
maven 2.0.6 at runtime (?)
also plexus-compiler-api exists at 1.5.3
i upgraded the mojo-parent to latest release version and added
resolution of compile dependencies in axistools to fix MAXISTOOLS-6. Are
anybody else working on/interested this plugin?
