Milos Kleint commented on MNBMODULE-71:
---------------------------------------
You should put the long description NOT in the manifest file, but the
Bundle.properties file the manifest file points to via OpenIDE-Module-Bundle
entry (or whatever the exact name is).
This file is already in the resources area. You can put html tags there and
everything. And you can either commit the content right before release or have
some kind of means for generating it. Which is about of the same complexity as
having a separate file you suggested.
> Ability to add a long description into updatesite information

>
> updatesite manifest contains two tags:
> * OpenIDE-Module-Short-Description
> * OpenIDE-Module-Long-Description
> Actually both contains ${pom.description}. We can keep that for short
> description, but for long description it could be fine if you can paste
> content of an external file (for example src/main/nbm/longDescription.txt)
> Because long description is displaying into plugin manager when we select a
> given plugin and more data (and more dynamic data) could be interesting (for
> example we could generate (or append) longDescription.txt from JIRA issues
> ...)

> Christophe.
