If people are interested in working on it, it's possible to fork the project and continue. If anyone wants to fork and continue I'd be happy to work with them (I'll even create the fork). However, the community is so small and distracted it's not ideal to continue developing within Apache. I think Myriad might have gone into Apache Incubator to quickly in the first place.
