My feeling is that the function formerly known as stylist deserves a name, rather than a description. If it says in documentation "You can use the Stylist to determine what your document looks like", it gives the function much more prominence than in "You can use the 'Styles and Formatting' dialog to..."
One of the nl.openoffice.org members had a suggestion that could be interesting to other languages as well. Considering that you use the stylist to manage styles, he came up with "Opmaakbeheer", which would be in English "Styles Manager" or "Style Manager"
