Hi Wouter,

Within the Dutch-language project nl.openoffice.org we have projects for translation of documentation (http://nl.openoffice.org/about-documentation.html) and for the translation of the UI and help files of OOo 2.0 (http://nl.openoffice.org/t9n_nl2.html). Because of the involvement of a number of non-Dutch speakers in the latter project, we even have that page in English, http://nl.openoffice.org/t9n_nl2_en.html

Hi list,

I suppose Daniel Carrera already sort of introduced me, but I will try to do it somewhat more complete, so that everyone has an idea about my skills and motivations.

I am from Belgium and currently 26 years old and, as Daniel already said, hold a degree of translator for English and French with as primary language (and mother tongue) Dutch.

I would like to help out with translations to Dutch and/or proofreading.

My current job is one as a webmaster. I am very good at (X)html, CSS and web standards, with working knowledge of XML and XSLT (I'm NOT a programmer, however... not really). I am also very knowledgable about website accessibility (theory + I spent half a year making our own website accessible) and usability.

This makes me think I might be a good candidate to help out with translations for the web creation part in OpenOffice Writer.

I'm on SuSe 9.1, I'll probably upgrade to SuSe 9.3 when it's out. Before SuSe, I was what you call a 'distro-hopper'. I've still got a dual-boot with WinXp though.

The moments I can contribute are evenings (From 20.00PM to 24.00PM Zulu Time). I am an Open Source addict and try to contribute back to the community through moderating, writing tutorials and volunteering for Open Source projects.

So nice to meet you all and I hope I can find an interesting part of the project to contribute to. As a final note, it was the enthousiastic personality of Daniel Carrera which made me decide I wanted to try and help out with this extremely interesting project.

Regards,

Darkelve
