Hello Jonathon,

I think we are going a little too far in this issue, discussing the
politics in present-day world. Also, I think we should be more
[n]ethic on this mailing list to respect all the countries and
nations. I guess the political statements do not fall within the scope
of this list (looking at the archives, the exception seems the
discussion about software patents ;) and all we are trying to resolve
is more or less related to a language support that is to be
implemented, as well as finding out which law OOo should abide.

Let's hope we find a solution.

As Ms. Danese Cooper has been having very big influence on Sun's view
of open source (not to mention her other efforts) and has also been in
close cooperation with Sun Legal, I have asked her to comment on the
issue, not as an employee of some company, but as a member of OSI, as
well as Open Source Diva many users respect and love :-)

Hope she finds time to post here.

Regards,
Aiet
