? Character-coverage has nothing to do with charsets/the encoding used. > KP 9566-2003 was submitted to the Unicode Consortium as a replacement > for KP 9566-97 mapping. > > BTW, CPAN has a module for the conversion of both KP 9566-97 and KP > 10721-2000 to Unicode. So what? Doesn't make this charset more useful for people that have nothing to do with NK (and that is my point) > >only useful to people with relationship to NK/for NK itself. > > CF University of Washington: Seattle, WA. ? If nobody names them I cannot comment on them. Again: It was not the korean language or the korean writing system that was rejected. What was rejected is a feature only useful to NK (or people having to do with NK). At a minimum people should name facts, name the issues they're talking about. Before they start a big discussion. What other patches for languages/countries on the embargo list are you talking about? > >distribute a modified version of OOo that includes support for this charset. > > How about a python script that converts plain text to/from Unicode? > Once in Unicode, it can be edited in OOo. > > That doesn't solve the problem of: > a) writing to the character encoding. > b) Reading non-plain text files that use that character encoding. A version of OOo that inlcudes the patch solves these problems. ciao Christian -- NP: Jimi Hendrix - Freedom --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
