Well pretty much since the beginning the spanish translation has not been
through the QA process. This causes the es never reach a final version and
never been moved to the official mirrors (the localized folders). If you
check any of these folders you will see that the 'es' is missing. (look
here: http://ftp.ussg.iu.edu/openoffice/localized/ )
For that reason we had to make some restriction to protect the bandwith of
the hamburg server
( http://oootranslation.services.openoffice.org/pub/OpenOffice.org/2.0.4rc2/
). This server is not being mirrored so we have to force the users to JUST
download the language packages. This has proven to be confusing for at
least some potential new users which either dont pay attention to the
download page instructions and end up with an English version of OOo.
We want to fix this, for these reason I have comment this to Louis in the
past and he has gave me the email of the QA mailing list and 10|n however
both ocasions didnt gave much result. Now we want to give it a new try and
see if we can finally solve it, integrate some volunteers into the QA
process and have the spanish aproved and get it off the 'RC' tag.
