All,

Just to inform you that I am planning to initiate a localization project of
OpenOffice for
Tigrinya (Eritrea Tigrinya, ti-ER). However, I would first like like to
know if any one has already started to work on a similar project. So far, I
don't see any project initiated under NLC projects.

If not, I would like to propose to have the project initiated and the the
language added to the localization projects list. The project plans to
initially start localizing OpenOffice Writer, and then will build upon this
experience to localize the rest of the suite. Here are the deatils for the
language:

  1. ISO code: ti-E
   2. Language name : Tigrinya
   3. LCID (Hex) : 0873; (Dec) : 2163
   4. Script info.:
   4.1 Script name: Ge'ez
4,2 Writing direction: Left to right in horizontal lines.
4.3 Additional details: Each symbol represents a syllable consisting of a
consonant plus a vowel. The basic signs are modified in a number of
different ways to indicate the various vowels. Additional information can also
be found by visting
  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ge'ez_alphabet

Please let me know if there is any detail / information I missed to include.

  regards,
  Tesfamicael
