I think the concern comes from our discussion on whether it was time
to drop support for Java editing on JDK 8, which was part of removing
the nb-javac requirement and code. I'm still in favour of doing that,
without dropping support for building and running as a whole on JDK 8
in the process.

We could also migrate by cluster to later JDKs as and when needed?
With Java first and platform last?

I'm still good with that, but it lost the vote at the time -
https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/a6b708b683f56849e1b1110ca17237b752ad635f48705049d1e96908%40%3Cdev.netbeans.apache.org%3E
It would also be good to know nothing in our infrastructure would
have a problem with it.

Without trying to be I-told-you-so, I abstained from that vote for the
reasons mentioned here and in the follow up reply -
https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/37b928f63182a9a58410a41caf20efa536537f03635822c922bef68a%40%3Cdev.netbeans.apache.org%3E

We chose a version scheme before we agreed the release schedule and
what each release might include. I remain of the opinion that was
backwards! :-) So, yes, maybe time to reconsider.

FlatLaf was a good move! And fairly small. Batik I'm less sure about
- is any of it API? I still think we'd be better looking at
svgSalamander, given option to use in FlatLaf and that Karl appears to
now be maintaining it.
