What Application server have you tried?
I found some bugs in Glassfish Tooling which causes that even if you
have GF 5.1.0 installed it does not show Jakarta EE 8 profiles to be
supported.
I'm going to file a PR that fixes those, however I'd have one question:

Are we sure that we would like to track the patch version in the profile
for the future? There is nothing bad with it, just it is a bit different
than we were doing previously.
