In any case, merging PR-2700 will not make the bug fix into the IDE

I'm still dubious about the cart-before-horse problem here. We
shouldn't really be distributing binaries of sources that haven't been
voted on ..

.. of course, we're planning a vote on the 12.4 beta, which means if
this was merged pre-beta, the binaries uploaded after vote, and the
second PR before feature freeze, we're a little more covered.

We really need to work out a better way to handle this, which I still
think is separate vote and distribution for internal binaries. Unless
we start expecting everyone to build them all from scratch when we do
a source vote?!

we can go down the apache way of life and discuss this ad inifinitum, but in the end we are prefectly happy to distribute a binary build from a different entity, under a worse license for us. I do not say, that we can do better, but exchanging randomly crashing binaries from the past with fixed binaries from today should be a no-brainer.

So is the source code in the PR ok? If so, we should get in now and I would be willing to do the upload, though I'd need some guidance then. As repeated many times this is a crasher bug, so if it does not make it into beta, I think it could still go into RC.
