Besides being artistically lovely, and playing on the original NetBeans logo, I liked the fact that it looks like a tesseract (a 4-d cube) <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesseract> viewed from one corner. “Bringing NetBeans into a new dimension”. Who drew it?
