One other suggestion I had was to move framework/base/src/start into $top/src, and build $top/build/lib/ofbiz.jar. That code has no ofbizdependencies, so shouldn't be a big change. Additionally, some libs inbase would need to be moved to the top-level, but that might make more sense to do anyways.
