Strange. Can we agree on what we mean by "the private list"? To me, the
private list is [email protected] ; it didn't receive any
messages related to the forum on or around 28 Oct 2014. Do you mean
another private list, at a different address? Or are you assuming that
someone acts as a liaison between some private forum within the English
forum and the private list? Anyway, I confirm that I haven't seen
conversation on the forum governance on the private list for months.

The note on the en-Forum says
"Private - EN
Board for sensitive matters that cannot be discussed in the public board.
Posts to be sent to the ASF private mailing list. "
I know nothing of the mechanism used - I merely assumed it was automatically
forwarded. No doubt someone with access to the phpBB code of the Forum can tell
more.
Same for me.
I don't think we think of posting the messages on the private list when we post
there. Since I'm not subscribed to the private list, cannot say what go through
if there is an automated mechanism.
