@Kay, Why [Issue 4914] is not fixed:
People still want to see the breaks (usually as horizontal rules), they just don't require columnar layout and some other provisions and they very much want smooth scrolling with no space between pages, no headings and footers, etc. They also want text reflow so no horizontal scrolling is required (except where it can't be avoided because of the width of material itself). This is all described in many of the comments that describe why the "online" view doesn't solve the problem. The Wiki page linked by Mathias provides a nice description of the different cases. What is called "Draft Layout" there is essentially about the use case that is frustrated (and has been ever since OpenOffice.org 1.x). - Dennis -----Original Message----- From: Kay Schenk [mailto:kay.sch...@gmail.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 11, 2015 09:36 To: dev@openoffice.apache.org Subject: Re: annotations to [Issue 4914] "normal" view option needed [ ... ] Yes, I did indeed set this to "fixed", and really I still don't understand why untoggling all views therefore producing just raw but formatted text doesn't provide what is asked for here. Maybe screen attachments to the issue would from other word processors that perform the needed function would help. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@openoffice.apache.org
