my personal opinion is that we should keep the release announcement focused on the product. People behind and/or involved the project can be addressed in a separate blog where we can also remember project members who passed away. People leave the project or became less active (including me) and new people started to become more active and do more and more. I suggest to focus on the new fresh blood that can make the difference in the future.
