how about removing German comments? this is important in two ways:
o Many do not understand German :)
o some compiler/utilities compilain about non-ASCII character
We should make sure that we stay on focus with this CWS (i.e., *only*
take care of warnings) or else we will get lost. Therefore, I would not
want to systematically translate German comments on this CWS; however,
if any C/C++ compiler will fail in wall=1 werror=1 mode on an input file
containing a non-ASCII character, we definitely should fix that on this
CWS (f.e., by translating the German umlaut ä to ae etc. and German ß to
ss).
Do you know of any way to force GCC to complain about non-ASCII
characters in its input? A quick attempt with LANG=en_US.ASCII was
fruitless.
