Making things "official" won't solve magically users needs.

OK, justification for an IM application would be "to send files between
users". That makes sense.

That does not mean OOo needs to ship this IM application. It can perfectly
remain external. OOo already does that for the web browser and the email
client.

You could not have chosen a worst example ;-). The formula editor perfectly
integrates into writer and the other components.

I do not agree. If users want a program to chat, they can download the one
they like. Not get one imponed by OpenOffice.org.

Disagree. In "office suite", there is the word "suite".

Because they can satisfy this need very easily, by downloading the tool of
their choice.

We don't provide eBay auction tools, browsers, itunes clones, email clients,
midi editors, monetary calculators and moonphase displayers with OOo. Users
are grown enough to get that by themselves.

If they really want a company that impones nearly everything to its user base
from the chat client to the video player, not forgetting the web server and
the office suite, they can go to Microsoft.

I realize you like your product very much. But trying to make it a standard
with the help of OOo is not fair for its competitors. You would better try to
promote it by letting the people know about it.

In any case, CSpace is licensed under the GPL, they would have to dual-license
to both GPL and LGPL to be able to be bundled with OOo...
