Thanks Joost, But by setting all target for confirmed issue, we can know how much actual load of the developer. If we see all, we can see the total issue assigned to that developer. By doing that we know that the real load. After that we can see how much the developer able to handle it for the next version.
I have an Idea to make a bounty This is the draft: ( I will create an Issue with the final one) As we know one of the complains about OOo is the performance and the resources usage which is high. This even not yet make user happy enough from the OOo 1.x to 2.x improvements, as promised in the Q concept. To attract more people using OOo. I would like to offer bounty. Target: Reducing the Memory usage & Opening time (in Windows XP with 256-512Mb memory) (Memory when starting OOo and time when opening a File, especially Word and Excel files) Rewards: The amount of the rewards will be : The Percentage improvements Multiplied by $20. If the improvements is over the 50%, I will give extra $500 Example : 30% improvements x $ 20 will get = $ 600. Maximum rewards 99% x $ 20 will get $ 1980 + Extra $500. Conditions: The patch must be attached to this Issue. The patch must working with the latest OOo version, and next Stable version The Patch must be accepted by OOo to be integrated. The Patch must Not make regression to other features/ performance. Only Single person will get the money. who can achieve the highest improvements, and fullfill the conditions only, will got the money. Bounty Closed at 31st December 2006. Please comments, or take a part to support/ adding the fund to make it more interesting :) Best Regards, Utomo -----Original Message----- From: Joost Andrae [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, September 28, 2006 8:27 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [dev] Why I no longer do beta testing for OOo Hi Utomo, please consider targets before you form an opinion about such a query. When considering targets like 2.1 and 2.x that query really looks different. In my opinion attracting more developers to work on OpenOffice.org in general is a good idea.
