Hi Ingrid,
Why is it a serious hurdle to wait let's say 3 days? For me this is not
so obvious.
Imagine your frustration what happens if the test fails after 2 days and
20 hours ... Or the turnaround times you have when the test fails there,
you fix it, and the test fails again an hour later.
Imagine the frustration of your QA-Rep if he finds the error in you CWS
after 2days and 20hours....
Imagine the even bigger frustration of several QA-Reps and other
developers if they find the introduced errors in the master and all
resynced CWSes...
Or imagine such a test run (failing or not) short before a release,
where you have a small CWS fixing a showstopper only. We don't really
want to have a mandatory 3 day delay in such situations, do we?
Well having these showstoppers short before release should be more and
more a seldom case I think. And if a showstopper fix is necessary I
think there can be exceptions for exceptional cases.
I also would prefer fast processes to slow processes of course, but I
would not prefer 'very fast' to 'medium correct'.
Cheers,
Ingrid
