is it possible to have OOo 3.x display anything on stderr?
If you build OOo you'll find a utility guistdio.com in your solver's
wntmsci*/bin directory. Copy that to the path containing your OOo
installation's soffice.exe executable and name it soffice.com, then
invoke soffice.com instead of soffice.exe.
Thanks! Is there any info about it on the wiki? I tried to search but
nothing came up. Maybe I should put it somewhere as a pointer for those
who hack OOo on Win platforms?
It does use stderr in Linux, so why not in Windows?
Because Windows simply suppresses any stdio for GUI programs. For
reasoning ask MS.
I would never guess that it's a feature not a bug. I guess you never
know with Windows which is which ;)
Best regards
Marcin
