Something like what cloudmade does: generate weekly extracts of important regions or features. Important being discussed on the list and/or voted on by the community. Perhaps someone wants a shapefile with all the motorways in Western Europe or a MySQL dump of all amenity=* POI for the state of Alaska. Make it easier to get access (in OSM and more popular formats) to our data.
