I tried this patch and it did not improve performance at all. On the contrary
actually. I have PDF files from a newspaper, one PDF per page and I am
rendering those to JPEG images. This is slow regardless of if I am using the
patch or not. And I have set the Kodac CMS also.
20 pages of these pages takes about 90 seconds without patch, and about 650
seconds(!) with patch. So no go with these PDF files. The PDF files are for
print with high quality CMYK images. They need to be rendered as RGB. I'm on
Pdfbox 2.0.3
I've tried on both Windows (my desktop computer) and a virtual Linux in Amazon
EC2 which has no graphics card. The results where the same. The patch is way
slower.
I will attach a sample PDF to this issue. (UNTUNT-*.pdf). Any hints on how to
speed up rendering is appreciated,
