Hi [~tilman], thanks for your reply! I think PDFBOX-4863 is referring to a font
issue, so that might be a different issue.
Unfortunately the latest snapshot doesn't seem to fix the issue. I've pushed a
proof-of-concept on GitHub that includes the output images from 2.0.19 and the
latest snapshot: [https://github.com/DocSpring/pdfbox-pdftoimage-poc]
If you compare
[2.0.19-page-1.png|https://github.com/DocSpring/pdfbox-pdftoimage-poc/blob/master/2.0.19-page-1.png]
with
[2.0.21-page-1.png|https://github.com/DocSpring/pdfbox-pdftoimage-poc/blob/master/2.0.21-page-1.png],
you can see that 2.0.21 is slightly blurry, while the embedded images rendered
by 2.0.19 are very crisp.
