Let's try out some Gradle publishing solutions. There are 1 or 2 other doc tasks to do too.
If we don't find a solution to the Gradle publishing problem by early next week, I would say that we should press on with the release. We have documented how users can build the Gradle plugin for their own use and that is a viable solution for 1.0.0 - but having something published to Maven Central is better.
