Some but maybe not all these issues can be worked around when using
the source tgz by setting a version number in sbt.

We should probably make an issue, on initial glance I think the problem is
the version is maybe not being set correctly i.e. when you check out
pekko projects via git the version is dynamically set via git tag which is
different to if you just download the source. Usually this shouldn't be
a problem but this project might be doing something more unique.

Back on topic, I will have a look at the release candidate later today.
