Thanks, [~gabriel.reid]. This looks great - nice and simple! One question: do 
we need to modify some of the poms in phoenix-assembly, in particular the 
client ones, since we'll need joda time in those jars? Also, the server one, 
it'd pull in joda time jar because HBase depends on it, but should we put our 
own dependency there anyway? If you do need to change the poms, then see 
PHOENIX-1545 for a slightly tweaked version that gets rid of the warnings.
