The v2 patch looks much better - thanks for that, [~jeffreyz]. Functionally,
it's a good improvement as well. I was hoping [~gabriel.reid] would have a
chance to review it as he's very familiar with this code, but he may be tied up
with other stuff. So I'm ok with you committing it tomorrow if we don't hear
anything back by then.
