I'm not sure if a band-aid fix like this makes sense.
One of two things is happening here:
1. I'm using JMeter in the wrong way and there is a way to get it to pass ints
rather than strings.
2. There's a much broader set of changes needed to truly address the issue. A
quick look at MySQL's JDBC driver suggested to me that it would handle this
case ok.
I'm honestly not sure which one it is.
