Thanks Chris, for giving me a full and realistic picture. I’m definitely not in a position right now to purchase physical PLC hardware or engineering software, so relying on simulated environments makes the most sense for me. I really appreciate the suggestions — I’ll start exploring CodeSys and see how far I can get with a simulated PLC setup. Regarding the career aspect, I’m still figuring out which specific IT domain I want to pursue long-term, so I’m not fully sure about automation as a career path yet. But I am interested in learning about industrial automation and PLC programming, and contributing to PLC4X would be a great way to learn and gain experience. I would like to contribute, and I’d be glad to have your mentorship as I get started. Thanks again for your support.
