My personal preference would be to wait for the POI 55292 patch to be applied (so that we can also fix Tika-1100). I'll have a chance to review it and its updates tomorrow (I hope), and if the community agrees with any mods I might have, I'll try that as my first commit.
I certainly understand, though, if 3.10 final makes sense now before those commits, especially if we can start distributing a 3.11 alpha shortly thereafter. :) ________________________________________ From: Nick Burch [apa...@gagravarr.org] Sent: Wednesday, July 24, 2013 7:03 AM To: POI Developers List Subject: Re: Next release? Sounds like you're in favour of a 3.10 final shortly then, so you can then go to town on that class of bug? > For shifting I think the removing/re-adding is causing a number of > problems, is it possible to exchange this with adjusting the position of > the row/sheet in-place? > > For formatting I am not sure, it probably is not well documented on the > Microsoft-side and thus hard to catch all possible cases, therefore making > any implementation inherently prone to bug-reports, or? Both of these areas are ones where there was a small amount of core support added a long time ago, then lots of little community patches to improve things added in. This has lead to some duplication, some odd gaps, and some non-joined-up code. A cycle or two of review/refactor/enhance/test is most likely needed for both!
