Hi Joy, As mentioned in our Slack conversation, several contributors are interested in adding new backend support for federation.
I recall a discussion with Eric regarding JDBC catalog support, and I have also spoken with Nandor about HMS in federation, depending on the Hive/HMS version. Any contribution is welcome, and we would be happy to assist you with this. Basically, we can add new Catalog handler that can be used by the federation.
