Sorry but I don't get the full meaning of this.

Which set_soenv.in do you mean?

And what about old Path? Do "modern" Linux and other -nix use
anther directory to store their freetyp2 in?

Sure. But afaik Eric B. already reported this. I take a look at
Issuezilla but this won't be until Saturday. I am visiting my
parents and there is no Mac only Windows XP and FreeBSD.

Sorry. This may have been an error in my setup. I have pkg-config
via Darwinports installed since Mac OS X afaik doesn't bring along
pkg-config and this pkg-config search for Darwinports freetyp2 lib
but this installation was incomplete. One lib of my freetype2
installation didn't get copied to the right direction. A
reinstallation brought the solution. Now

Regards,
Eric Hoch
