Hi Eric,

Eric Hoch a crit :

For the record, I'm experimenting a new installer for the future 2.0 version of OOo on Mac OSX

[...cut...]

Is it possible to use /Application/OpenOffice.org as the default destination of OOo for Mac OS X?

/opt is in "hard" in the code, but it can sure be possible to change for /Applications, more Mac OSX conform ;-)

in solenv/bin/modules/installer, if I'm not wrong

grep -rl "/opt" /$SRC_DIR/solenv/bin/modules/installer

will give you all, if I'm not wrong

I am sure that a lot of users get
confused when OpenOffice.org installls itself into /opt even though this directory is there and favoured by Apple to place non system binaries there but all in all the Mac OS X users are used to have their programms in /Applications and not in /opt and even if the installers pops up and shows that OOo is installed in /opt a week later you will have forgottten that and begin a search for OOo.

Yes, I completely agree. Maybe we propose the changes on IZ ?

Same for the User installation this should as it currently is be placed in ~/Application Support/OpenOffice.org1.1.4

We can do it easely, not a problem at all

The rest sounds O.K.

:-)

I'll take a look at m79.

Now m80 (with hsqldb2) is near to be ready (IIRC).

FYI, I'll add --enable-pasf while configure, because no sound yet, and use db3.2 + Pavel's workaround
-> I'll begin the build asap
