There used to be a bug in module xmlsecurity file xmlsignaturhelper.cxx that prevented OOo from opening OOo native documents equal if they are in old or new format. Other formats, such as ms word docs or rtf's opened. For m83 and earlier there was a patch attached to IZ 41276. If you plan on building earliere milestones than m87 you may use this patch in order to get OOo open OOo native documents. In m87 this file xmlsignaturhelper.cxx for me looks completly different to the one used in m79 or m83. I haven't finished m87 yet so I cannot say if this bug still exists. > I did copy the folder from my other machine on > which the Java startup stuff had initially run (twice), even though OOo > itself didn't launch - I'm wondering if some paths set by the Java setup > are causing the problem - I will try a clean install. Yes, there are java related bugs in current Mac OS X milestone builds.
